The story can start with the overall relocation of Beijing Valve Factory Co., Ltd. in 2017.

"The factory was originally located in Daxing District, Beijing, and wanted to expand production scale, but the production space was limited. In addition, valve manufacturing requires the use of model injection molding, and it is not possible to build its own injection molding workshop." Cui Peng, Deputy Director of the Production Department of Beijing Valve Factory Co., Ltd., said that full chain production cannot be carried out, resulting in a long production cycle. At the same time, the raw material suppliers are all outside Beijing, and the production process is highly uncertain.

Beijing Valve Factory was founded in 1952 and is a member unit of the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee. It is also recognized as a leading enterprise in the industry. In order to implement the coordinated development strategy of Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Beijing Valve Factory began to move out of Beijing in 2016 and relocated to Handan as a whole in 2017.

"The original site in Beijing is only 200 acres. After relocation to Handan, the total factory covers an area of 130000 square meters. Currently, there are seven workshops, which have achieved the production of raw materials and the final manufacturing of finished products." Cui Peng said, especially after completing the construction of the raw material processing plant workshop and injection molding workshop, the delivery cycle has been shortened from 60 days to 15 days.

"Cheng'an County has a superior geographical location and convenient transportation. It is adjacent to the steel mills around Handan and has sufficient steel materials to meet 80% of the production raw materials." Cui Peng said that as a downstream enterprise of "eating steel", Cheng'an County has achieved a complete industrial chain.

Entering the production workshop of Beijing Valve Factory, injection molds for products such as ball valves, butterfly valves, and gate valves are produced under the operation of robotic arms, especially high-end precision castings, which make up for the shortcomings of Beijing Valve Factory's reliance on outsourcing procurement for high-end castings.

"The medium temperature wax precision casting production line can better meet the demand of the high-end self-control valve market. The large intelligent sand casting production line can improve its own supply chain of large-diameter and high-capacity valve products, fill the domestic gap, and replace imports." Cui Peng introduced that the medium temperature wax precision casting production line has purchased the most advanced industrial robots and equipment internationally, and has built a constant humidity automatic drying workshop, achieving full automation such as automatic cleaning, storage, and shell drying, The produced castings have stable dimensions, smooth surfaces, and high precision.

"The implementation of the high-end precision casting project not only fills the demand for precision castings within the factory itself, but also meets the demand for high-end precision castings in the valve market. Through the upstream production industry chain built within the factory, the sales of high-end precision castings to the outside world are achieved, meeting the demand of high-end customers for valve precision castings." Cui Peng introduced that since the production of precision high-end casting products, they have been sold to places such as Jiangsu and Zhejiang.

Stepping out of the production workshop, I saw a large open space in front of the factory building under construction. Cui Peng said that this is a national level valve inspection and testing center under construction. "The national valve inspection and testing center covers an area of 10 acres with an investment of 220 million yuan. The completion of the center means that it can provide product testing and testing services for valve manufacturing enterprises nearby, filling the gap of the valve inspection and testing center north of the Yangtze River, and further improving the reputation and influence of the valve industry park."

As of now, there are 22 valve R&D and manufacturing enterprises in Cheng'an County, with an annual output value of over 2 billion yuan, forming a valve industry cluster that integrates high-end intelligent valve research and development, production, and sales.
